Disorder written against criteria rather than against impression. PS 360 sample papers work from the diagnostic manual's own wording, hold the line between distress and disorder, and say what a case does not establish.

How this shelf works

Send the exact assignment or rubric from your classroom and a custom sample written to it lands in 24 to 48 hours, the first one free. PS 360 is Herzing’s Psychopathology course. It centers on abnormal psychology, where a case has to be assessed against published criteria instead of matched to a label the writer already had in mind. What PS 360 is really about

Psychopathology is the course where a student first has to reason toward a diagnosis rather than recognize one. PS 360 assignments supply cases and expect the criteria to be applied in order: which are met, which are not, how long the picture has lasted and whether it causes the impairment the definition requires. Distress alone is not disorder, and the number of criteria met matters, so papers that identify a label from the first paragraph and then assemble support for it are working backwards. The differential is where the marks concentrate, because naming what else could produce this picture is what demonstrates reasoning.

The second thing the course tests is restraint. A case contains what it contains, and a great deal of what a clinician would need is absent, so the strongest papers say what could not be determined and what would have to be asked. Culture receives explicit attention, since expressions of distress vary and criteria written in one context can misread another. Language matters throughout: person-first phrasing, no use of a diagnosis as a description of somebody, and no reaching for terms the case cannot support. Instructions differ on which edition of the manual is expected, and using the wrong one costs marks.

What PS 360’s assessments ask for

Prompts typically supply a case and ask for the most likely diagnosis with the criteria applied, a differential, and something about treatment supported by evidence. What separates the bands is the differential: a paper naming one condition with no alternatives has asserted rather than reasoned. Treatment sections want what the evidence supports for this condition, with the strength stated, rather than a list of everything available. Where prompts ask about etiology, they want the biopsychosocial account rather than a single cause, and where they ask about stigma or culture, that section is graded rather than decorative. Sections differ on which manual edition is expected, and applying the wrong one is treated as a substantive error rather than a citation slip.

Where students lose points in PS 360

The reliable loss is a diagnosis chosen first and supported afterwards, which shows because no criterion is ever reported as unmet. Second is distress treated as sufficient, with duration and impairment unexamined. Third is no differential, which removes the reasoning the assignment exists to test. Fourth is language: a person described as their diagnosis, or a term used loosely that the manual defines narrowly. Fifth is treatment listed rather than evidenced, and sixth is the wrong edition of the criteria applied. Papers also lose ground for concluding confidently from a case that plainly lacks the information a real assessment would require. Confidence beyond what a paragraph of case material supports is the last of them.

Using a PS 360 sample the right way

Read the example for the order of reasoning: criteria first, unmet ones stated, alternatives considered, then a conclusion held at the strength the case supports. That sequence is what the rubric is following. Then check your own prompt, since sections differ on which manual edition is expected, whether a treatment plan is required and how much cultural analysis is asked for. Send the instructions and the case and the sample is written against those. Note particularly how the paper reports criteria that were not met, since that is what shows the reasoning ran forwards rather than backwards from a label.

How these samples are written

Every sample on this rail is written the way the custom ones are: the rubric decoded row by row, clinical registers held exactly, formats shipped clean. Herzing revises classrooms; a custom request is always written to the rubric in YOUR course, never from a stale template.

PS 360 questions, answered

How do I avoid choosing the diagnosis first?

Work the criteria before you name anything. Read the case, list what is present, then open the manual and check each criterion in order, recording the ones that are not met as carefully as the ones that are. If you find yourself with no unmet criteria and no alternatives considered, the reasoning ran backwards even if the answer is correct.

How many alternatives should the differential carry?

Two or three that genuinely fit part of the picture, each with what distinguishes it. A differential listing conditions nobody would seriously consider is padding; one naming the condition that shares the presenting features, and saying which detail rules it out or leaves it open, is the reasoning the assignment is grading.

What if the case does not contain enough information?

Say so, because it usually does not and noticing is a strength. State what you would need, what question would obtain it and how the answer would change your conclusion. A paper that reaches a confident diagnosis from a paragraph has demonstrated less than one that reaches a provisional view and names what remains unknown.
